GLOBALSTAR is a Satellite telecommunications service. A constellation of 48 satellites connects local wireline and cellular networks to offer global roaming, cellular extension and remote fixed services to all market segments, virtually everywhere. It is especially important in urgency conditions when there is no other way of communication and when all other infrastructure and services are down or not exist.

Globalstar is a multinational company including Loral Aerospace, Daimler Chrysler, Hyundai, Qualcomm, Alcatel, etc. and service providers are the international telecommunications companies such as China Telecom, Dacom, Elsacom, France Telecom and Vodafone airtouch.
